A Group Exhibition
Gallery @ Glen Carlou
10 September - 5 November 2023
Opening adress by
Gerhard Marx
We are privileged to partake in the opening of another exhibition in the front gallery entitled Borderline Biomes with work by Adele Sherlock, Elske Henderson and Ingrid Bolton.
These three artists explore the space of overlap and intersection between different biomes - the spaces created when worlds meet - known as ecoclines or ecotones. These are the rich, diverse and hybrid spaces that form in the spaces between things, between worlds,
communities, and organisms. These spaces are the spaces of contact, transmission, and affectation. It marks not only the space where one thing ends and another begins, but also where the meeting of worlds creates a new thing, something that is either/or, or neither/nor.
While each artist explores, in their own way a relationship between their practice and the exterior world, a rich dialogue is created in the space between their practices. It is a beautiful exhibition filled with curiosity and experiment.
I congratulate the three artists on their work and invite you all to also spend time in the front gallery to explore BorderLine Biomes.
I thank you.
